Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are dental lasers used for?
Lasers can be used for anything from treating cavities to cold sores. Our Lightwalker dental laser makes it easier for our patients to enjoy gentle, minimally invasive dental restorations. We also offer Smoothlase - cosmetic laser treatments that remove wrinkles around the cheeks and just below the nose.
  • What type of sleep or sedation dentistry do you offer?
Our Elkhart sedation dentist offers both oral sedation as well as nitrous oxide sedation in our office. Dr. Snyder is licensed to provide safe and relaxing sedation services without having to refer patients to an off-site facility for their treatment.
  • Do you offer braces?
Yes, we offer in-house FastBraces. FastBraces straight your teeth in less time than conventional braces. They come in traditional designs as well as tooth-colored orthodontic appliances.
  • Am I eligible for dental implants?
Thanks to advancements in dental implants, most people are candidates for the treatment. Dr. Snyder will need to assess your oral health and bone support first, just to make sure. If a bone graft is needed to stabilize the dental implant, we can provide that service as well.
  • How much will the cost of my dental implant treatment be?
The cost of your dental implant will depend on how many implants are needed, whether you need any bone grafting, and which type of restoration you place on top of the implant. Dr. Snyder is happy to provide you with an itemized treatment plan for you to consider prior to beginning your dental implant treatment.
  • Do you offer financing?
Yes! We file claims with all insurance plans and offer 3rd party financing through CareCredit. CareCredit allows you to finance any dental procedure, with interest as low as 0%!
  • How do I know if I really need a root canal?
If your tooth needs a root canal, you may experience symptoms like a darkening of the enamel, abscesses along the gums, or hypersensitivity. However, some teeth are completely asymptomatic. Stop by our Elkhart dentist office for an exam and x-ray to determine if nerve damage is present.
  • Is it expensive to get a smile makeover?
Smile makeovers are customized to the needs and budget of each of our Elkhart cosmetic dental patients. For instance, you may opt to simply whiten your teeth - or you can have several dental veneers placed. Your treatment will fit your expectations and goals. Check out our Teeth Whitening for Life program!
  • At what age should my child first visit the dentist?
Both medical and dental experts recommend that children have their first dental check-up by age 1. This allows us to monitor the health of your child’s teeth in order to avoid complications that can impact their developing permanent teeth.
